Alan and Eileen Varnson started the Varnson Group as a moonlighting effort. Alan was working as the head of marketing at an optical retailer, and Eileen was working in the medical marketing field. While the idea of a "word-of-mouth endorsement company" remains an industry curiosity, in 1994 it was virtually unheard of. Both were educated at the University of Florida, but they didn't meet until several years after graduating. They live in Braselton, GA with their six children and three dogs.
